director whose films are shorn of the usual sex and violence ingredients.

has an eye for the undercurrent of emotions in human relationships and their
myriad manifestations. Whether in Porkalam or Pandavar Boomi, the story line was
simple but the delineation in terms of characterization was wonderful.
