Illayaraja- Vaali combination – 1978 - Ilamai oonjal aadugirathu: Veteran Director C.V.Sridhar – IR came together in this Film. IR had expressed his feelings in paal nila pathai where in he says he was thrilled when he got a call from Sridhar’s office. Though IR had played Guitar in MSV’s music for Sridhar’s film “Avalukkendru oru manam” for the song “Malar edhu en kangal” by P.Suseela this was the first Sridhar’s film for which IR was the Music director.

More to IR’s surprise the film had two super actors Kamal and Rajini . Rajini didn’t have any songs in the movie. All songs were for kamal and all were situational (Sridhar is the director).  Sridhar- Vaali association started with Nenjirukkum varai with the song Nenjirukkum … Knowing Sridhar’s taste Vaali came up with some memorable songs with beautiful lyrics.

The Song of today is “ Ore naal unai naan “ by S.P.Balasubramanian, Vanijayaram. This is a love song between kamal & Sripriya . Song starts in a restaurant and travels thru eliot beach.. Ore naal unai naan is my pick follwed by Kinnathil then vadithu by KJY & S.Janaki

To say in tamil “IR’n isai Ilamai oonjal aadiyirukiradhu inge” . Yes that is the feeling we get when we hear this song. SPB – no doubt was the perfect choice for kamal while VJ (she was singing more for sripriya at that period) did a good job in this song .
