Chennai-600028. No, this is not the tail end of an address in Chennai. This is a much-awaited movie directed by debut director Venkat Prabhu (Gangai Amaran's son). Venkat has already tried his hand as a singer and actor. Chennai-600028 is produced by S.P. Charan for the banner Capital Film Work with Thandira Films.

The movie, which been in the news for quite a while, is said to be dubbed in Telugu even before its Tamil premiere. Chennai-600028's grand film premiere is to be held in Singapore on 26 January 2007. Top-notch celebrities, including film-stars, politicians and businessmen are expected to attend the function.

The Telugu version is titled 'Hyderabad Galli'. The film has a fast folk number, 'Saroja Saamaan Nikalo', sung by Shankar Mahadevan, and was filmed in an expensive set erected in the Mahabalipuram area. There is also a very sensuous song sung by Anoushka which was filmed in Bangkok.

The title track of the movie is by Yogi B. and Natchathiraz. The Malaysian born Yogi B. and Natchathiraz shot to stardom after their single, Madai Thiranthu, from their album titled Vallavan, which made waves worldwide.

Soundarya owns a graphics company, Ocher Studios, which hasl handled all the animation and graphics for Chennai-600028. Ocher Studios did animation and graphics for movies like Chandramukhi, Kalvanin Kadhali, Chennai Kadhal and Sandai Kozhi.
