After a serious role in Pudhupetai, Dhanush is back to play an happy-go-lucky-youngster in Thiruvilayadal Arambam.

Pandian's maiden directorial venture Devadhaiyay Kandein may not have captivated the audience. Yet, he is confident about making a mark in filmdom. 'I would love to establish myself as a director, capable of making movies on varied themes,' he says. And, he is currently wielding the megaphone for Thiruvilayadal Aarambam, also starring Dhanush  It must be said that Boopathy Pandian, a one-time associate of directors Parthiban and Sundar C, had a difficult start with Devadhaiyay Kandein as the movie faced several hiccups and the release got delayed.

'Had the movie been released on time, the result could have been different,' he feels. 'However the movie taught me a few lessons, he says. On his Thiruvilayadal Aarambam, he says, 'I share a good rapport with Dhanush. We are like friends on the sets.'

Actress Shreya, who has been cast opposite Rajnikanth in Sivaji plays the female lead while Prakashraj plays a cameo. Talking about the film, Boopathy Pandian says, 'A major portion of the movie has been completed and we are hopeful of an early release.'  Boopathy Pandian's penchant for humour was evident with his dialogues in Winner, directed by Sundar C and more famous for rip-roaring comedy by Vadivelu. He followed it up with Sundar's Giri, which too saw Vadivelu at his best.
